In July 2022, Cadillac unveiled some big news and introduced their plans for the 2024 Cadillac Celestiq; a hand-built, all-electric luxury vehicle with customized design and advanced technology. Coming in at 18 feet long and 7 feet wide, this electric vehicle is BIG.
Their plans for the Celestiq include a price tag that starts at $300,000. This unveiling launches the General Motors Cadillac brand into the ultra-luxury vehicle ranks alongside brands like Rolls-Royce and Bentley.
GM is touting this Cadillac electric vehicle as one of its most technologically advanced, featuring adaptive air suspension, magnetic ride control, and rear steering for comfort and performance. The Celestiq is Cadillac’s second all-electric vehicle, following their launch of the Lyriq crossover vehicle earlier in 2022.
Some details are still being worked out, but GM says they expect the car to reach 300 miles on a single charge and achieve 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds.
Executives have said their goal is to lift Cadillac’s image and change peoples’ perception of Cadillac’s cars. (No more “Mary Kay” car being everyone’s first thought.) Buyers can work with designers and Cadillac’s concierge service to customize almost every aspect of their vehicle including the Celestiq’s interior trim, exterior color, and other non-mechanical features.
Interested buyers won’t be able to get their hands on this model easily. Only a few hundred Celestiqs will be manufactured each year and the vehicle will be offered to a global marketplace. The Cadillac Celestiq will be available by request only and will require a “significant deposit," executives say.
